Went back to Muhibbah after a couple months. Its a great family outlet specialising in Chinese Muslim cuisine that started as a road side stall. Except this time the Chinese influence is lesser than the Thai influence. Still packed none the less. Be there before eight or after nine for dinner to avoid having to wait for a table.
Four adults, a teenager and a pair of children make up our party. We had the above, an extra plate of kangkung belacan, white rice and drinks. The portion seems a tad smaller than I remembered them but still acceptable. The Sabah fern salad is a favourite with the in-laws while the kids as usual zoomed in for the crispy fried squid. The steamed fish in clear Thai sauce is excellent, tasty without any heavy taste. The buttered prawns is good but the prawns should have been at least a size bigger, I mean the prawns, not the portion. Then again bigger portion would be good too. I like the black pepper beef but its a little too spicy for the kids. Finally, the tom yam seafood soup is fiery. Tasty, but somehow missing something even though there's abundant ingredients in there.
Total cost came to RM145.85. Very reasonable with efficient service. Recommended - especially to the Malaysian expats coming home and happen to be in the vicinity - he he he.

And the winners are ...
Sabah fern salad and crispy fried squid. yumm! That will be good enough for me.
Appreciate this review but Apandi ... STOP making me crave for Malaysian food. You cruel, cruel man! :D
ha ha, that last sentence was actually for you...
Why.... thank you kind sir. :)
Someday when I return to Malaysia for a visit, we should go eat at one of the restaurants you have reviewed.
Muhibbah TTDI is always a fail-safe place whenever my wife and I can't decide where else to go... It helps that we don't live too far from there. But not at this very moment. Because I'm holed up in a bloody rust bucket in a mosquito-infested swamp, zillion of miles away from Muhibbah.
I echo JT's sentiment: You are INDEED cruel. What more with the mouth-watering pictures. I can almost smell the garlic! Drool.... heh ;)
jt, i'll take you up on that.
ms, kitaorang nak pergi jeram esok. hmmm, aku makan untuk ko ya heh heh heh
